RESORT SUMMER TUBING AND DRY SLOPES

Sliding Great with Tube Pro™ on dry slope surfaces at more than 20 locations world wide!

John Nike Dry Slope and Sky

Dry Slope Tubing Artificial Ski and Tubing slopes or "dry slopes" mimic the attributes of snow using materials that are stable under fluctuating temperatures, enabling people to ski and tube with performance similar to winter conditions. The term "dry slopes" is used but can be misleading as many slopes are lubricated using a mist or water jet system to increase speed and prevent damage to equipment from friction heat build-up. As a general rule, dry slopes are found predominantly in the U.K. until NOW!

More and more North American ski and tube locations are wishing to increase their off season revenues, by incorporating Summer Tubing. The winter equipment installations, such as a handle tow or conveyor, maintenance and concession stands are already in place. Therefore to maximize capacity and increase resort revenue year round artificial tubing slopes are a great option.
Dry Slope Tubing

Dry Slope Tubing There are a number of materials, and companies producing dry slope technologies including; Snowflex, Powderpak, Innova, Dendix, Permasnow, and Astrorride to name a few.

With our rigid plastic snow tube cover bottoms, Tube Pro tubes slide great on all manufactured dry slope, and summer tubing surfaces. Since most dry slope surfaces are manufactured out of various plastic brush or carpet/bristled materials; the plastic of the hill surface, on the plastic of our tube bottom slides exceptionally well and mimics the speed of natural ice and snow runs. Tube Pro snow tubes are successfully used on over 20 dry slope locations worldwide and growing yearly!

Dry Slope Tubing For more details contact Bill Pawson and here is a brief summary of slope material types:

Brush material is the most common material developed over the past 15 years, a by-product of brush manufacturing with 1" bristles in a hexagonal shape. Often the surface will have sprinklers to mist the surface to reduce friction. The downside to this material is that it hurts when you fall, and it's easy to catch fingers and thumbs in between the lattice. This issue applies more to skiing and snowboarding, rather than tubing. Brush material is slowly being replaced with various padded bristled carpet like surfaces.

The new carpet/bristled material surfaces focus on providing both impact protection and slope lubrication. This surface has created the ability to construct turns, erect jumps, rails and quarter pipes and provide a ride that is closer to the feel of real snow. Many surfaces are white in color, although some have been produced in a darker green. This surface looks like carpet and has a layer of cushioning built in to help ease the pain of falling over and is less damaging to ski, snowboard and tubing equipment. This type of slope may also use a misting system to help lubricate the surface resulting in a faster, smoother ride.
